(Crisp) Movie Review: VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE by FENIL SETA

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a decent entertainer and just like the first part, the bond shared by Eddie Brock and Venom makes for a great watch. The villain track is also interesting and the entry of the villain symbiote is a memorable sequence. At 97 minutes, it is one of the shortest superhero films ever. This goes in favour of the film in a lot of ways but at the same time, no proper back story is established of certain characters. A few questions are left unanswered. The ending is a bit dark and too violent. The mid-credit scene is excellent and gives hope that the next Venom film will be something to watch out for. Tom Hardy is apt for the part and is quite entertaining. Michelle Williams has a lesser screen time than the first part but nevertheless, she adds to the madness. Woody Harrelson is menacing while Naomie Harris leaves a huge mark. Reid Scott and Stephen Graham are decent. All in all, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, just like the first part, is a one-time watch. If you plan to watch, do watch it in 3D in CINEMAS.

My rating – *** out of 5!
