(Crisp) Movie Review: SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO by FENIL SETA

Sicario: Day Of The Soldado is a decent fare and just like the first part, keeps one engaged thanks to its gritty execution, camerawork, action and intense performances. The film however also goes on a different track as compared to part 1. The lovely Emily Blunt and Daniel Kaluuya aren’t there – you won’t miss them but a Sicario film looks a bit unusual without their presence since they did so well in part 1. However, the much-loved Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin reprise their respective characters and once again create some madness in USA and Mexico. The story is a bit unconvincing but the film has enough moments to keep one engaged. The last 30 minutes are gripping but it’s shockingly filmy. It looks a bit out of place in a film like this. Benicio del Toro once again rocks and love his deadpan expressions. Josh Brolin delivers a confident performance. Isabela Moner has a crucial part and plays her role with panache. Overall, a nice, one time watch!

My rating – *** out of 5!
