(Crisp) Movie Review: ONE CHILD NATION by FENIL SETA

One Child Nation is a documentary that explores the horrors of the one child nation policy of China. One of the directors, Nanfu Wang, is like the protagonist of the documentary. She interviews her own family members and village people to understand the concept better. The film even gets even more interesting once she moves away from her village and meets more people and this is when the film hits you like a ton of bricks. A few moments are a bit confusing and dragging but overall, the documentary works very well and succeeds in its endeavour. A fine effort by both directors, Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang. Must watch!

My rating – **** out of 5!
