(Crisp) Movie Review: MRS SERIAL KILLER by FENIL SETA

Mrs Serial Killer is a decent thriller that keeps one engaged from start to finish. The storyline is basic but interesting and some scenes are quite entertaining and keep the interest going. The characters are very interesting, especially their quirks. On the flipside, logic takes a backseat in this film. Shirish Kunder is fine as the director but as the dialogue writer, his work is weak. A film like this should have had dialogues with a lot more punch. The background score, moreover, seems a like a copy of Asoka’s song ‘Roshni Se’. Talking of performances, Jacqueline Fernandez is not at her. In a couple of scenes, she hams but surprisingly, in some difficult scenes, she gets it right. Mohit Raina has an excellent screen presence but is letdown by dialogues in a crucial sequence. Manoj Bajpayee is dependable as always. Aamir Khan’s niece Zayn Marie Khan makes a stunning debut. Her action is to be seen to be believed and her character adds a lot to the film. Darshan Jariwala and others are decent. All in all, Mrs Serial Killer is a timepass entertainer and a one-time watch.

My rating – *** out of 5!
