Milan Talkies is a shocking piece of cinema. The direction and treatment is haphazard and amateur and that’s not what we expect from someone like Tigmanshu Dhulia who has made such fantastic films in the past like Haasil, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar. A few moments stand out and the performances are fine. Otherwise the script and plot is cliched, poor and predictable. Ali Fazal does a fine job in the lead role. Shraddha Srinath has a excellent screen presence and can work in Bollywood if she does some well written films. Sikandar Kher hams. Ashutosh Rana is decent while Rajiv Gupta and Sanjay Mishra leave a huge mark. Tigmanshu Dhulia also features as an actor and he’s far better in this department. All in all, do yourself a favour and avoid Milan Talkies!
