(Crisp) Movie Review: ANATOMY OF A FALL by FENIL SETA

Anatomy Of A Fall is an English-French film which has got five nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. The film starts on an intriguing note. Once the mood is set, one wonders where the film is heading and whether the story is compelling enough for a run time of 150 minutes. Thankfully, the film has enough engrossing moments and no one can predict where the film will go next. Yet, the narrative drops in between and the bond shared by some characters is not properly explained. Sandra Hüller delivers a superb performance and shoulders the film nicely. Swann Arlaud is lovely as the lawyer. Milo Machado Graner (Daniel) plays a difficult part with ease. Samuel Theis (Samuel; husband) leaves a mark in a cameo. Antoine Reinartz (prosecutor) is so good that you can’t help but hate him. All in all, Anatomy Of A Fall is a well-made courtroom drama. It releases in India on February 2.
