In an interview to a leading tabloid, Rhea Kapoor makes it clear that pregnant Kareena Kapoor opting out of Veere Di Wedding are completely untrue. She reveals that she’ll be shooting certain portions with the other 3 girls in the film – sister Sonam, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania – in October but the principle chunk will be shoot in March-April 2017 when Kareena returns after delivering the baby and completing the maternity leave.
Rhea, in this rare interview, assures that she and her team are trying her best to make it her best film till date. For authenticity, her team is knocking on doors of people in Delhi and asking if they can shoot in their houses! They are also looking at Thailand as a location for shoot.
Her previous 2 films – Aisha and Khoobsurat – also centered around women and Rhea admits it’s a genre she loves and is most comfortable with. Also, she wants to make such films because very few such flicks are made in Bollywood.
Rhea also blurts about the characters being played by Kareena and Sonam in the film. Kareena essays a progressive character while Sonam plays a middle class Delhi girl. The latter tries to balance what you feel you should do and what you actually want to do.
Rhea, besides being a producer, is also a stylist and is responsible for Sonam’s fashionista image. She says that fashion for her is important as it helps create a story. She admits that Sonam loves to dress more than anybody else she knows!
Lastly, she also refuses reports that she’s getting married to Karan Boolani. Moreover, she claims that ‘it’s their family policy to not speak about personal lives.’!
