Sooryavanshi, as expected, is a complete mass entertainer. The basic storyline is very simple but writers have added some excellent action, chase and dramatic sequences to keep the interest going. Till the first half, the film is fine but in the second half, a communal harmony scene takes the film to another level. In each and every show, viewers are going to clap and whistle at this point. The much awaited climax fight featuring Sooryavanshi, Singham and Simmba is also whistle worthy although its too long. But to see the trio together gives goosebumps. Again, a comment made at this point on ill effects of terrorism enhances impact. Akshay Kumar is splendid and his comic timing is a surprise of the film. Katrina Kaif adds a lot to the film and her dance in ‘Tip Tip Barsa’ is sizzling. Kumud Mishra leaves a mark in a small role. Jackie Shroff is strictly okay. Abhimanyu Singh, Gulshan Grover and Nikitin Dheer are great as baddies. Sikandar Kher is lovely in a cameo. Jaaved Jaaferi, Sharvari Lohokare (Vandana; Tambe’s wife), Rajendra Gupta, Vivan Bhatena (Vivaan), Ashish Warang (Tambe), Niharica Raizada (Tara), Sofiya Khan (Lily) and Anil Charanjeett (Aatmaram) lend able support. Lastly, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn are too good, though Ranveer goes over the top. All in all, Sooryavanshi deserves to be seen if you love big, scale masala films. The makers have waited patiently for 19 months as they were sure that they wanted to give it a release in cinemas. Hence, do watch it on the big screen with your family and/or friends!
