(Crisp) Movie Review: NEEYAT by FENIL SETA

Neeyat has a great premise, setting and a bunch of strange and mysterious characters. It could have turned into a fantastic murder mystery but fails to impress due to the poor script and execution. It becomes boring after a point. There’s a twist at the very end which saves the film from becoming a disaster. Speaking of performances, Vidya Balan is fine but is not in her best form. Rahul Bose goes overboard but it works well for his character. Ram Kapoor is apt for the part. Shashank Arora leaves a mark as always. Neeraj Kabi and Shahana Goswami are dependable. Prajakta Koli is lovely. Dipannita Sharma Atwal doesn’t get much scope. Amrita Puri is okay. Niki Walia is dependable. Danesh Razvi (Tanveer) fails to impress. Shefali Shah is superb in a cameo. All in all, Neeyat is disappointing.

My rating – ** out of 5!
