Captain America: Brave New World scores in terms of the action and grandeur. The intro action scene and the two action pieces in the pre-climax and climax are extremely captivating. The run time of just 118 minutes also goes in its favour. On the flipside, the film doesn’t pack a punch like the good old Marvel films. Not a single joke is funny while the emotional moments don’t touch the heart. Anthony Mackie is decent but we have seen him do better in this role before. Danny Ramirez is sincere as Falcon but is let down by the writing. Harrison Ford is the best actor in the lot; he suits the part completely. Tim Blake Nelson (Samuel Sterns) is okay and the effects used in his scene could have been better. Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley) leaves a huge mark. Shira Haas (Ruth Bat-Seraph), Xosha Roquemore (Leila Taylor) and Giancarlo Esposito (Sidewinder) are decent. Harsh Nayyar (Indian PM) makes his presence felt as a Narendra Modi lookalike. All in all, Captain America: Brave New World is an average film at best.
