(Crisp) Review: KAPIL SHARMA: I’M NOT DONE YET by FENIL SETA

Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet is a Netflix special featuring the stand-up comedian talk about some unknown episodes of his life in his trademark humour. It’s interesting to see Kapil open up about life like never before like his depression, the bond with his father, how he met his wife Ginni Chatrath etc. There’s no dull moment and since it’s under an hour long, it doesn’t feel dragging or boring. A tribute to Kapil’s father in the end is lovely. On the flipside, Ginni Chatrath’s lines could have been funnier. In fact, at many places, one might feel that the gags and punches could have been truly LOL-worthy. Nevertheless, a fine effort by writers Kapil Sharma and Anukalp Goswami (additional writing by Gursimran Khamba and Aakash Mehta), director Saahil Chhabria and cinematographer Surindra. In addition, special mention to Varsha Jain’s production design as the set is quite appealing. All in all, Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet is surely worth a watch, especially if you enjoy Kapil Sharma’s antics. It has the potential to work well as Kapil has an enviable following and also as it’s a clean entertainer.

My rating – *** ½ out of 5!
