(Crisp) Movie Review: TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS by FENIL SETA

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts is a decent entertainer and boasts of some exciting action scenes. The comedy also works and keeps the interest going. At 128 minutes, this is one of the shortest films of the series. The length is just right as the film neither drags nor moves too fast. On the flipside, the film falters in the emotional scenes. The back stories are not well developed. Also, though the climax fight is grand, it does give a déjà vu of similar scenes that we have seen in certain superhero films. Speaking of performances, Anthony Ramos (Noah) and Dominique Fishback (Elena) both put on a great act. Dean Scott Vazquez (Noah’s brother Kris) is adorable. As for the voiceovers, the ones that stand out are Pete Davidson (Mirage), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Ron Perlman (Optimus Primal), Michelle Yeoh (Airazor) and Peter Dinklage (Scourge). All in all, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts is a timepass entertainer and worth watching once.

My rating – *** out of 5!
