(Crisp) Movie Review: TICKET TO PARADISE by FENIL SETA

Ticket To Paradise is a fun-filled entertainer starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts. It is the story of a divorced couple, who can’t stand the sight of each other, and how they are compelled to be together for their daughter’s wedding. The film wins simply due to the casting. The chemistry shared by the two stalwarts is electrifying and takes the film to dizzying heights. The writers have penned some very funny and witty dialogues. In several scenes, the one-liners are enough to bring the house down. The Bali setting also lends a unique touch to the film. Though a few developments are silly and clichéd, one doesn’t mind as one watches this film hoping for some sweet and simple fun and this film delivers that in abundance. Speaking of performances, George Clooney is effortless, as always. And as always, his smile is killer. Julia Roberts, too, puts her best foot forward. Her comic timing is superb. Kaitlyn Dever has a superb screen presence and makes her presence felt in the presence of legendary actors. Billie Lourd (Wren) is decent. Maxime Bouttier looks dashing and is apt for the part. Lucas Bravo is funny in a small role. All in all, Ticket To Paradise is one of the must-watch films of the year. Just sit back, enjoy and relax as George Clooney and Julia Roberts take you on a rocking adventure. It was released in India on October 5 in CINEMAS, two weeks before its release in North America.

My rating – **** out of 5!
