(Crisp) Movie Review: THUG LIFE [Hindi] by FENIL SETA

Thug Life starts on an interesting note. The use of black and white in a crucial scene adds a nice touch. But soon, the film falls due to the script and also execution. The intermission point is arresting but the way the film goes into a completely silly zone after the interval will shock viewers. The film completely loses the plot here and kudos to Mani Ratnam for enhancing interest once again, in the pre-climax and climax. It helps only till an extent, sadly. Kamal Haasan rises above the script and gives a powerful performance. Silambarasan TR too puts his best foot forward. Trisha Krishnan looks stunning and is too good. Abhirami leaves a huge mark. The same goes for Aishwarya Lekshmi. Nassar, Joju George (Pathros), Sanjana Krishnamoorthy (Mangai), Bagavathi Perumal (Anburaj) and others are fine. Ali Fazal, Mahesh Manjrekar and Rohit Saraf are just okay and have very limited screen time. All in all, Thug Life is a disappointing film (P.S.: If you do watch the film, please dont miss the beginning).
