Raid 2 begins on an interesting note. The lead characters are well-introduced. In fact, the villain’s entry is unusual. The film then drops and the two romantic songs act as roadblocks. Even post-interval, the film drags a bit. But the interval block is superb and the second half overall scores big time. The climax is the best part of the enterprise and the use of the song ‘Paisa Paisa’ is a damn good idea. Ajay Devgn keeps his act restrained and effective. However, in a few scenes, his dialogues are not audible. Riteish Deshmukh is terrific as the antagonist; in some scenes, it’s his eyes which do all the talking. Vaani Kapoor is just okay. Amit Sial is the scene-stealer. He contributes maximum to the laughter quotient. Saurabh Shukla and Yashpal Sharma seem promising initially. Though their performances are fine, their contribution is underwhelming. Shruti Pandey (Geeta) is another actor to watch out for. Rajat Kapoor, Sanjeev Jhori (Ashok) and Brijendra Kala (Vinay Bakaya) lend able support. Finally, Tamannaah Bhatia looks like a million bucks in ‘Nasha’. All in all, Raid 2 is worth watching for the drama and an exciting second half.
