(Crisp) Movie Review: MADAME WEB by FENIL SETA

Madame Web comes at a time when the audience is fatigued watching superhero movies. On top of it, it rests on a faulty script and even the execution is not upto the mark. Several questions are left unanswered while the villain track is silly (he’s wearing a Spider-Man suit for some reason). What works is the bond shared by the protagonist with the young girls and some action scenes. Dakota Johnson too makes the film watchable with her genuinely fine performance. Sydney Sweeney, too, puts her best foot forward. Isabela Merced and Celeste O’Connor are fine in supporting roles. Tahar Rahim doesn’t impress as the villain. Kerry Bishé (Constance Webb), José María Yazpik (tribe member) and Adam Scott (Ben Parker) lend able support. All in all, Madame Web is silly and not worth watching.
