(Crisp) Movie Review: LILO & STITCH by FENIL SETA

Lilo & Stitch is the remake of the 2002 Disney animated film of the same name. The premise is interesting while the character of Stitch is quite cute. The manner in which he and Lilo form a bond is heartening. Also adorable is the equation between Lilo and her elder sister. The villain and CIA track keep the interest going. However, there are many unconvincing moments in the film. The way Stitch creates havoc and yet, Nani doesn’t mind is difficult to digest. Maia Kealoha (Lilo) shoulders the lead role with full conviction. Sydney Elizebeth Agudong (Nani) shines in a difficult role. Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen add to the entertainment value while Courtney B Vance is let down by the writing. Amy Hill (Tūtū) and Kaipo Dudoit (David Kawena) are decent. All in all, Lilo & Stitch is a fun entertainer for the whole family this summer.
