(Crisp) Movie Review: HUMANIST VAMPIRE SEEKING CONSENTING SUICIDAL PERSON by FENIL SETA

Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is about a bond shared between a young reluctant vampire and a suicidal boy. While the idea is novel and crackling, the execution is weak. The film has a runtime of just 90 minutes and yet feels stretched and lengthy. The climax is unexpected but doesn’t create the desired impact. Sara Montpetit (Sasha) and Félix-Antoine Bénard (Paul) deliver superb performances. Noémie O’Farrell (Denise), Steve Laplante (Father), Sophie Cadieux (Mother) and Marie Brassard (Aunt) also perform ably. All in all, Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is disappointing.

My rating – ** out of 5!
