From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina tells a story which has been narrated before in different kinds of films. Moreover, it follows a predictable pattern of John Wick movies. Hence, one knows what’s going to happen next. The first half is just alright. Things get better, in between, with the training sequence. The pre-climax and climax are the best parts of the movie. A few action scenes are gory but also imaginative, especially the one involving the flamethrower. Moreover, the manner in which the town of Hallstatt is depicted is amusing yet terrifying. Ana de Armas plays a challenging part with ease and looks great doing action. Keanu Reeves has a supporting role and is too good, as expected. Gabriel Byrne (The Chancellor) is very effective as the villain. Anjelica Huston (The Director), Ian McShane (Winston) and the late Lance Reddick (Charon) are fair in their supporting, recurring parts. Norman Reedus (Daniel Pine) and Catalina Sandino Moreno (Lena) are let down by the writing. Waris Ahluwalia (The Eye, who oversees the town) leaves a huge mark due to his character and Indian connection. All in all, From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina is a fun, stylish action flick and a must-watch for John Wick fans.
