(Crisp) Movie Review: ELEMENTAL by FENIL SETA

Elemental, backed by Walt Disney and Pixar, is a lovely story of opposites falling in love. The writers and director Peter Sohn not only give audiences an entertaining time but also makes an important comment on problems faced by immigrants when they move to foreign lands. The love story works the most and reminds one of classic Disney love stories. On the flipside, one expects a little more thrill towards the end. An important plot point is left abruptly as the makers fail to give it a logical conclusion. The voiceovers are damn good by Leah Lewis (Ember), Mamoudou Athie (Wade), Ronnie del Carmen (Bernie), Shila Ommi (Cinder) and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Gale). All in all, Elemental is worth watching, especially for Disney-Pixar fans.

My rating – *** ½ out of 5!
