(Crisp) Movie Review: CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI by FENIL SETA

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a progressive film and treated in a very entertaining manner by Abhishek Kapoor. It’s just 117 minutes long and moves at a nice pace. The introduction of the main characters happen in no time and the way the love blossoms between the protagonists is quick but convincing. The twist in the tale is obviously expected but the manner in which it unfolds is arresting. The intermission point is hard-hitting. In the second half, the developments don’t really impress much. Also, the dialogues in the film could have been far better and funnier. Thankfully, the film picks up in the pre-climax. The climax might seem convenient and clichéd but it works as it’s nail-biting. Ayushmann Khurrana, as expected, is in top form. It’s amazing to see how he continues to pick up such bold subjects. Vaani Kapoor is terrific and a big surprise. She’ll surely be seen in a different light from now on. Kudos to her for accepting this part! Kanwaljit Singh is adorable while Tanya Abrol is apt for the part of the dominating sister. Karishma Singh is decent as Vaani’s friend. Girish Dhamija, Aanjjan Srivastav and others are fine. All in all, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is worth watching!

My rating – *** ½ out of 5!
