Peddi starts on an intriguing note. The elevation before the hero’s entry is superb. The cricket and wrestling shots are entertaining, while director Buchi Babu Sana wrote a story that must have sounded promising on paper. However, the film is riddled with silly and unconvincing moments. Certain actions of the hero are highly objectionable and even laughable, and the narrative is quite stretched. This 190-minute film could have been 20 minutes shorter. Ram Charan has put in a lot of hard work and comes out with flying colours. Janhvi Kapoor looks stunning, but her performance is not up to the mark; she is massively let down by the writing. Divyenndu‘s arc also suffers, though his performance is fair. Jagapathi Bapu and Shiva Rajkumar leave a huge mark in small roles. Boman Irani is okay and goes over-the-top in some scenes. Ravi Kishan and Tarak Ponnappa are alright. As for songs, ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ is catchy but appears at a point where the audience will be disgusted by the goings-on. All in all, Peddi is a disappointing film.
