(Crisp) Movie Review: GOOD FORTUNE by FENIL SETA

Good Fortune tells the story of a struggling gig worker and how his life changes when he meets a kind-hearted but inept angel. The idea of the film is promising, while the star cast is enticing. A few scenes are hilarious, while the message comes across well. It’s just 98 minutes long and moves at a neat pace. On the flipside, the film had the potential to be a complete laugh riot and the makers missed the chance. Also, it gives a low-budget feel; one can sense they have cut corners and it was completely avoidable. Aziz Ansari falters a bit as a director but as an actor, he’s first-rate. Seth Rogen is also superb, as always. Keanu Reeves is the best part of the film and is simply adorable. Keke Palmer (Elena) is decent. All in all, Good Fortune makes for a good timepass watch.
