Smurfs begins with a catchy song. The introduction of the characters, especially that of the quirky ones, is funny. One expects the whole film to be on the same lines. Sadly, the humour gets limited after a point. Few Disney-style songs seem forced and drag the narrative. The ending doesn’t give any exhilarating feeling, which the makers definitely intended. Speaking of the voiceovers, Rihanna is the biggest draw of the film and she does an impressive job while others do well. All in all, Smurfs fails to impress.
