(Crisp) Movie Review: WICKED: FOR GOOD by FENIL SETA

Wicked: For Good is the sequel to the 2024 musical Wicked. The first half is in the same zone and is watchable. An RRR-interval-block-inspired scene in the second half adds to the fun. The goings-on are similar to what’s happening today in the world and it provides an authentic touch. However, after a decent first half, the film falls in the second half, and how. The direction gets haphazard in a crucial scene. The finale is not properly executed and the developments are difficult to digest. Songs are too many and after a point, it makes the narrative tedious. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande yet again excel with their respective performances. Jeff Goldblum (Wizard), Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible) and Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero) lend able support. Marissa Bode (Nessarose) and Ethan Slater (Boq) do well in small roles. All in all, Wicked: For Good is a big disappointment.
