Tu Yaa Main‘s first half focuses mainly on the love story. It makes for a nice watch, but also makes viewers restless. After all, they have entered the theatre not just to watch the lovers but also the crocodile. The many songs in the first half also fail to entice, except for the beautifully recreated ‘Aankhein Chaar’. Thankfully, things get better from the intermission point. The second half is crazy and a few jumpscares are very well executed by Bejoy Nambiar. Very few Hindi films have scored in this regard and Tu Yaa Main is one of them. The climax is quite nail-biting. Adarsh Gourav gets into the skin of his character of an influencer from Nala Sopara and is quite impressive. Shanaya Kapoor puts up a great act. Parul Gulati (Lyra) is decent in a supporting role. Ansh Vikas Chopra (Fabric) is highly entertaining. Kshitee Jog (Maruti’s mother) and Shrikant Yadav (Tavde; cop) leave a huge mark. Rajsi Anant Kinjalaskar (Sonali; Maruti’s sister), Amrutha Srinivasan (Tara) and Rajat Kaul (Vikram) are decent. All in all, Tu Yaa Main is the surprise of the season.
