(Crisp) Movie Review: TRON: ARES by FENIL SETA

Tron: Ares talks about AI and the limitless possibilities for a positive as well as devastating impact. The treatment is very stylish. The VFX is vibrant, while the action and chase scenes are very gripping. The music score is a USP and the ode to the previous parts is heartening. Sadly, the beginning is very confusing. Too much information is thrown at the viewers and it takes a while to process. The finale doesn’t give a high. Also, one needs to compulsorily watch the earlier parts or watch recap videos to understand the goings-on. Jared Leto underplays the character neatly, which was a big requirement. Greta Lee (Eve Kim) delivers a fine performance, though she gets overshadowed by Jared. Jodie Turner-Smith (Athena) and Gillian Anderson (Elisabeth Dillinger) leave a tremendous mark. Evan Peters (Julian Dillinger), Hasan Minhaj (Ajay Singh) and Arturo Castro (Seth Flores) are decent. All in all, Tron: Ares is a decent timepass flick.
