(Crisp) Movie Review: SINNERS by FENIL SETA

Sinners has a decent first half, focusing on the characters and the setting and it leaves a hint that things are going to get crazy soon. After a gripping intermission point, the second half is when the film goes to a different level in terms of madness, violence and a lot more. The concept is quite imaginative and the use of music also adds a lot to the film. On the flipside, a few aspects are confusing. The mid-credit scene is too long and doesn’t leave the desired impact. Michael B Jordan is superb in the lead role. Miles Caton (Sammie) is the next best. Wunmi Mosaku (Annie), Hailee Steinfeld (Mary), Jayme Lawson (Pearline) and Delroy Lindo (Delta Slim) leave a huge mark. Omar Benson Miller (Cornbread), Yao (Bo Chow) and Li Jun Li (Grace) do well in supporting roles. Jack O’Connell (Remmick), Peter Dreimanis (Bert) and Lola Kirke (Joan) deserve special mention. All in all, Sinners makes for a hatke supernatural cinematic experience.
