(Crisp) Movie Review: PARAM SUNDARI by FENIL SETA

Param Sundari is breezy and light from start to finish; it comes as a breath of fresh air in today’s times of action packed and violent cinema era. The story is simple and nothing new. A few sequences remind one of Chennai Express and even Nayee Padosan. But the film has its moments and doesn’t bore even for a moment. The second half could have been better, especially the finale, which is quite silly. As for the songs, ‘Pardesiya‘ works beautifully as expected. However, the other songs are bland. Speaking of performances, Sidharth Malhotra goes a bit overboard in a few scenes. Nevertheless, overall it’s a fine performance. Janhvi Kapoor looks stunning and is first-rate. Manjot Singh is dependable while Sanjay Kapoor is pleasant. Inayat Verma (Ammu) is cute while Renji Panicker (Bhargavan Nair) and Siddhartha Shankar (Venu) are fine. Abhishek Banerjee is decent though his character is half-baked. All in all, Param Sundari is a nice timepass romcom.
