Eternity is based on life after death, but it’s not similar at all to any other films in this space. The concept is unique and the depiction of ‘The Junction’ and the various worlds are fascinating and even amusing. Director David Freyne‘s treatment is in the zone of Woody Allen-meets-Wes Anderson and it works and also adds to the visual appeal. Though the film has a lot of funny moments, it doesn’t stir viewers emotionally. This is a major point that goes against the film. Also, the protagonists don’t seem to be in a shock after dying and reaching a strange new place, that too as their younger selves. Miles Teller (Larry) gets his act right. Elizabeth Olsen (Joan) looks stunning and gives a first-rate performance. Callum Turner (Luke) is wonderful as the ‘perfect’ lover. Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Anna) and John Early (Ryan) are entertaining. All in all, Eternity has issues, but it makes for a delightful watch.
